My old car just stopped

One too many times now. What is the effective way to treat this. I know we can buy one of those gasoline with cleaning agents to clean the system.
Try that one?

To tune up:
Change SparkPlugs (sparkplug wires if needed), air filter, fuel filter, anti-freeze, check the battery too. This is do-it-yourself stuffs, be a man, a useful one. Do it.

Tưới xong châm mồi rồi ta ..đốt ...

Ôi cái xe quá già ..... sửa mà ....mà làm chi .....

Alternator has nothing to do with car stopped at red light (I'm assuming he can restart) :)
If it's alternator problem, the car stops for good ... can't restart.
Alternator is very easy to check and usually the battery light will be on to tell U that U have a alternator/charging problem.
