you might wanna take out the odometer to see if all the wires are still solidly intact..
<btw...if ure gonna take out the odometer...becareful with the outter plastic that holds the lil clock...i remember vaguely there are 2 hidden screws somewhere...u dont wanna crack the plastic part>
My uncle's car got the same problem with you. Try to bang on the adometer a few time to see it working a or not :D

This is good to do, loose connection or solder joints crack. If still can't solve, go to the junkyard to get a use one, no one knows since it is your car.

Sorry bachho, somehow I did not see this thread :)
U did not tell me if this is auto or manual transmission -> I assume it's auto.
Two potential problems:
1) the speedometer cable - check it from the trans to the instrument panel -> make sure both sides are tight
2) check to see if the speedometer itself work by using a cordless drill and tight up the cable to it and start spinning it (one side of cable hooked to the drill and the other side is tightly secured to the speedometer). If U still do not see the needle moving up, it's more likely that the speedometer is gone. U can go to junk yard and get another one to replace.
