In my town (Houston, Tx), if U go to the dealer, estimates starts (from $75 up)
A local mechanic shop can give U free estimates but some charge U some fee.
Do U have free estimates?
Let us know where (city, state) U live.

my friends and i do our own suspension work most of the times..
we also do some tuning and installing non head/block parts..
as for engine and transmission wise...i have a good friend who would fix things for free at his shop..
so far i have yet to spend much on car repair/maintainance..<knock on wood>
