Air impact wrench or electric impact wrench ?

Pika có chút thắc mắc về những tools loại này xin các anh , chị nào đã dùng qua cho Pika chút advice.

* Vì lý do gì mấy tiệm sửa xe hay dùng những tool này ? Mở ốc nhanh hơn ? Mở ốc dễ hơn ? Dùng cho đỡ tốn sức hơn ?
* Tools loại này có thích hợp dùng ở nhà không ?
* Impact wrench co hai loại air impact wrench và electric impact wrench , loại nào tốt hơn ?
* Khi mua tools loại này mình nên consider những điều gì ?

Pika nói chung không to khoẻ gì cho lắm. Nhiều lúc biết cái xe bị hư chỗ nào, nhưng mở con ốc không nổi. Cố mở cho ra, rồi mệt muốn bệnh luôn nên mới có ý định dùng tools loại này. Hopefully tools sẽ giúp cho việc sửa xe trở nên nhẹ nhàng hơn. Không hiểu Pika nghĩ zậy có đúng không ?

OK nếu Pika có ý định tự học sữa sữa xe hơi, trước tiên phải bỏ ra vài trăm để mua tools ở Sears (highly recommended Craftman brand name)

Air impact wrench, loại tool này hay được thấy ở những garage sữa xe Mỹ, air compress phải áp dụng cho tool này. Mỗi lần nghe mí thèng mechanists mở ốc dùng air impact wrench nghe "réc réc" đã tai lém phải hông? :D còn electric impact wrench thì chỉ cần cắm điện vào thay vì dùng tay. Theo tui nghĩ khi mở ốc nên dùng hand tools dẽ dàng hơn, thiệt đôi khi dùng electric impact wrench lực không mạnh bằng tay thường.

Definitely Air-impact tools are better !!!
U need to buy a good air compressor (6ft tall one from Sears recommended).
Buy at least a 50' air hose.
As far as tools, Craftsman is good (money-wise) for amateur mechanics :)
I like (and own) only Snap-on and MAG tools.
They are made for fit and last long time (they also have lifetime guarantee).

For home auto repairs, "hand-wrench" is best :( Why?

Air and Electric Impact Wrench don't always work due to their sizes; however, if you have some extra cash, it's better to invest in an air compressor and a set of air impact tools since the air compressor can do a lot of things such as sanding, painting, hammering....

Electric Impact wrench has very limited use since it's so big and sometimes does not have enough toque!

If you do not plan to work on car frequently, invest in a high quality mechanic tool set...if the screw are too hard to loose, use an extenstion or a pine to extend your wrench and you are on your way :)

Besides, air/electric impact wrench generally cannot be used to tighten screws when a precise torque is required.

If U only touches the car once a month or once every few months for oil change, spark plug change, etc .... all U need is run to Sears and get a 192-piece Craftsman (~99 bucks) and it will do the job :)

Có lẽ Nam bự con lém phải không ? Nên mở mấy con ốc không thành vấn đề zới Nam nhưng đối zới Pika là cả một bài toán khó. Mà đối với impact wrench bao nhiêu torque là OK ?

Theo Coldwin nói mấy tools như snap-on and MAG: "They are made for fit" nghĩa là sao zậy ? Như zậy craftman tools không last long như snap-on or MAG sao ?

According to your experience how much torque do I need for auto repairs ? ( 100, 200, 400, or 950 ft. lb. ? )

Snap-On and MAG tools are made for pro-mechanic uses so they make very precise to what U need to get done.
Craftsman has good tools too but they're made for home/amateur mechanics.
They do not have that many special tools :)

About the torque ... depends on what U try to do. For ex, the lug nut for wheel (Honda or Toyota) needs around 85 ... U can find this from the spec.

If U want to ask specific question about your car, U need to tell me year, make and model ...

air..buy a compressor can work for many othertools also...like vacuum..suction..for body work...and many more...don't shop for air tools at sears...browse around n look for bargain...only the compressor buy at sear...:cigar:

Do Snap-On air-impact wrench have lifetime warranty ? I browsed around but could not find any infomation about lifetime warranty on those tools in Sear, Snap-On and MAC.

No electric / air-impact tool comes with lifetime warranty.
But normally, if a shop/mechanic buys lots of tools from a Snap-on dealer, they would not mind to swap out if one is defected.

Đúng rồi, vì nhiều con ốc phải bắt buộc dùng impact wrench thí dụ con ốc bình nhớt. Hơn nữa, mở bằng hand tool có lực mạnh hơn air compressor(?)

Không hiểu nhe Coldwind. Thường a good air-impact wrench consumes about 3.5 scfm @ 90 PSI . If we use the air compressor Coldwin mentioned above from Sears which delivers 8.4 scfm @40PSI or 6.4 scfm @90 PSI , Pika nghĩ cũng OK rùi. If we use a much better air compressor, the air-impact wrench produces the same torque, not more.

Thử nghĩ xem an impact wrench trung bình tạo 250 ft. lb. , điều này có nghĩa là mình lấy một cái wrench dài 1 foot , một đầu mắc zô con ốc, đầu kia cho một người to con nặng chừng 250 pounds đứng lên mới tạo the same torque. Mở xong con ốc cỡ này mà dùng handtool chắc lè lưỡi luôn :D
